does he like me or just wants to be friends?

me and this guy texted eachother and talked on the phone for 2 months. we finally met for the first time last night.hes so nice, attractive, athletic, we have so much in common and hes genuinely a good guy. i dont know if he sees me as anymore than a friend, and i’ve gotten myself into the situation where i dont know if i could just be his friend. he gave me a hug goodbye. he said that he would lead me back to the highway, i said he didnt have to do that because i had my gps, but he insisted, so i followed him for like 15 minutes to the highway. then about an hour later, the time it took me to get home, he texted me and asked if i made it home. i told him he needs to come to me town sometime and he said “yea sometime ill have to find a day im free which isnt many”. then he was like “you had fun right?” then i asked him if he had fun and he said “yeeaa it was fun a movie wouldve capped it off”, we were supposed to see a movie too but the theater was closed due to a power outage. today i was talking to him and complimented him on something and he said “thanks bud”…bud? i dont know how to tell if he likes me or just wants to be friends. i feel like i mightve blew it because i was being pretty shy, not flirting and also i just wore like soccer shorts and a tshirt since we were playing mini golf. i feel like i shouldve worn something nicer, but idk, thats what i wear in the summer cause its the most comfortable.
